A member asked:

I was told i have superior and inferior swelling at the back of me eyes. and my lp was 22.5. is this pappilledema?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Papilledema: Papilledema is swelling of the optic nerves. Your spinal fluid pressure isn't elevated so increased pressure within the brain isn't the cause. Severe high blood pressure can cause it. An ophthalmologist should be consulted to see if optic neuritis is present. A neurologist should also be involved.
