Juxta mean: "just next to"..so just next to the cortex of the brain. The cortex is the outer layer of grey matter tissue that looks wrinkled. A lesion can mean a small growth, change, alteration, etc, The medulla (medulla oblongata) is the continuation of the spinal cord within the skull, the lowest part of the brain stem. Such lesions may be found in MS, other conditions, nothing. Ordering Doc can interpret.
