Otitis: Otitis media and/or externa. Have your doctor check for middle ear effusion or infection as well as canal infection. Avoid getting water in your ear in the meantime. Also keep track of any sinus/nose and throat symptoms which can radiate to the ear.

Ouch!: You may have an infection or irritation of the ear canal (otitis externa) with fluid in the ear behind the eardrum(giving the clicking sound). An exam would really help. If the ear canal seems swollen, you can try using a 50/50 mixture of water and white vinegar- drops into the ear. Tylenol or ibuprofen can help with pain. Best choice is to see your health specialist- a simple look will tell!
