No other disease?: Each person with constipation needs to be sure there is no other disease causing it. If constipation is just due to slow movement of the food and poop through the gut, then the things to try are vegetables, water, prune juice, prunes, fiber-with-water, Miralax, Senokot or other senna, milk of magnesia, etc... A doctor can evaluate and prescribe helpful meds too, such as Linzess or Amitiza.

Things to ponder: The large intestines does 2 things. It stores poop & reclaims water from it. The longer poop stays in, the harder/bulkier it becomes. Your large intestines has circular muscles in the walls that get weaker & less able to help you empty if they are stretched with a big mass. Using a water retaining/softening agent (Miralax in the US) and doing scheduled emptying at least 2X/d can help most improve.
