Learn/ can't: Some studies show as many as 70% of women have evidence of prior genital HPV infections by the time they reach their mid 20's. It is a family of viruses wit 2-4 strains associated with genital warts & 7 or more associated with cancer. The pap smears you do over your lifetime look for this possibility. The primary infection clears & becomes dormant. It remains for a lifetime. Most NEVER get cancer.
