A member asked:

Why is it wrong to say that cancer is a genetic disease and is therefore always inherited?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not same thing: Genetic means break in gene sequencing which can be from chronic irritation, tobacco, alcohol, radiation, debilitation. And yes, you can inherit predisposition toward a particular type of cancer, but not every type of cancer. Cancer is a very broad umbrella term encompassing many disparate entities.
