A member asked:

Can you catch strep throat by breathing in dust particles?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

"dust particle" ?: I suppose if you inhaled a tiny droplet of someone's cough mucous & consider it a dust particle you could get strep that way. Most dust is a collection of dead dust mite bodies, dirt & miscellaneous debris, all very dry. Strep germs are usually transferred in saliva and can remain alive for a while on door knobs. counter tops, etc. After they dry out they are unlikely to pass the germ.
