90 days : Current CDC guidelines recommend testing based on the type of test. Home rapid antigen detection tests should detect HIV within 90 days. Blood rapid antigen tests should detect HIV within 45 days. If you are concerned, ask your doctor about repeating the test especially if there was possible exposure within the 90 day timeframe.
