A member asked:

Having dysfunctional uterine bleeding, went to gyno, going to have sono & possibly biopsy, what are the chances of cancer, are they high, scared!!

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Uterine biopsy: At 56, dysfunctional bleeding may be due to thicker uterine lining, which may contain abnormal cells. Worst case would be that uterine cells may be malignant, but more likely will be designated "adenomatous hyperplasia", which is not. The biopsy will dictate the next steps.
