A member asked:

Pelvic ultrasound report says there is 2cm intramural myoma versus 2 adjacent myomas from previous u/s. does this mean there is only one myoma now?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Myoma ?'s: When myomas are very close in location, the ultrasound can not always distinguish whether it is one or two. It does not matter in any case, since the size ("one cm.") will not interfere with conception, and by itself should not cause major problems. Low dose contraceptives may inhibit growth of myomas since the estrogen in the pill is lower that what you would produce at age 35 and up.
