If he grew last year: If there was some growth in the past 6-12 months, then there should still be some growing left. If no growth in the past year, then growth has finished. One's pediatrician tracks annual heights on the growth chart. Most people reach their maximum height in their late teens. Without nutritional problems or chronic childhood illnesses, height is largely based on genetics and parental heights.

Unlikely: Bone maturity & by inference growth potential is usually measured by an x-ray of the wrist/hand. If such a study was done and showed an adult bone age (fused growth plates) he would not be expected to grow taller. Failure to grow any in the previous year is also firm evidence that no more linear growth is possible. Charts/graphs are by nature an estimate.
