Child 18 months coughing badly what is the best way to help the baby girl?

Did she get the: Pertussis vaccine ? If not she may have whooping cough which causes severe bouts of uncontrollable coughing - nothing helps . For most minor cough a cup of warm tea with generous amount of honey mixed it will offer some relief .
