It depends: Most commonly, radiologists will use the words "patchy densities" to suggest it is probably a small patch of infection or pneumonia. I say probably because we can be fooled... and I would always correlate with the clinical findings (such as do you have cough and or fever). A poor inspiration can cause crowding of structures which may look similar, but normal. CT scan may help resolve if needed
