A member asked:

How much blood loss is too much during miscarriage? approximately 2- 3 cups over 2 hours 30 minutes.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Blood loss: miscarry: The amount of blood loss varies with the size of the placenta ( age of the pregnancy). "Two or three cups" in general will not adversely affect the patient, but this is determined by other factors which indicate whether the blood loss is affecting oxygen transport in the blood stream. Usually, a minor surgical procedure ( a D&C) will limit the bleeding from a miscarriage.
