Nerves and Sore Toes: "Painful area between toes. Doc says it's from back. Why would be sore if coming from back." The nerves come out of your back between the vertebrae (small bones stacked up) protect spinal cord. Nerves pass from the cord between the vertebrae run down the leg. A big nerve, the sciatic divides into peroneal and tibial nerves. Sometimes the nerves get irritated for many reasons. Consult your doc -
