A member asked:

My son was involved in a minor accident where someone drove into the back of the car. he woke up with a stiff neck. do i need to take him for a checku?

Wouldn't hurt: Such findings would not be unusual in this setting and is commonly called whiplash. It is usually a minor muscle strain in the neck muscles that self heals but could be something more. An evaluation by his doc could both exclude worrisome issues and document the discomfort if you pursue a liability claim against the other driver.
