Read labels: Lactose sugar is the main sugar in cow milk and cow milk based products. The lactose content diminishes in refined cow milk products such as sharp cheddar cheese, but is higher in most yoghurts or ice cream. Your system may tolerate small amounts. Some products like lactose free milk, soy milk and others contain none and can be consumed without problems.
