A member asked:

Ultrasound focal thyroiditis + 1.3x.5cm hypoecholic nodule likely parathyroid adenoma -- sore throat 10+ weeks, no relief?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

See details: Are you certain about the size of the adenoma.? You probably mean millimeters and not centimeters. A 5 cm lesion is 2 inches long and that is highly unlikely. It is unlikely to cause a sore throat but you do not mention if your calcium level is normal or elevated. If the calcium is elevated the adenoma likely needs to be removed surgically.
