Depo: bleeding: "Depo" shots can have an effect which can interfere with ovulation, which allows the continued production of estrogen, thickening the lining of the uterus. The uneven production of estrogen makes some areas of the lining degenerate, causing bleeding. There are other causes of uterine bleeding, so see your gyn provider for an exam to be certain this effect is just from depoprovera.
