A member asked:

Ct w/contrast brain: persistent cavum septum pellucidum et vergae, a normal variant. cortical gray-white differentiation is preserved, without evidence of acute ischemic insult. dural venous sinuses are well enhanced. - what does this mean? concerns?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No concerns.: Specifically, no evidence of tumor, cyst or stroke, hemmorrhage or blood clot. About 15 % of adults have persistence of a fluid filled cavity that is present in all embryos but usually disappears with growth, called the cavum septum pellucidum et vergae, so it is called a normal variant. I hope the original problem that prompted the CT has resolved.
