Yes and no: Recurrent BV is deifnitely not a sign that suggests HIV infection. However, having BV increases the risk of HIV if sexually expossed; and although BV isn't an STD in the usual sense, other STDs are more common in women with BV, and thus HIV risks may be higher. If you have possibly been at risk for HIV, get tested -- but not because of the BV itself. Good luck!
