Corpus luteum cyst: A ovarian corpus luteum cyst is often found early in pregnancy which supplies the hormone progesterone to the fetus until the end of the first trimester. If it is a corpus luteum cyst, removing it may terminate the early pregnancy. Your MD needs to continue to follow the "cyst", and your beta hCG hormone levels to be certain that it isn't a dangerous ectopic pregnancy (outside of the uterus).
