Rule out TMJ issues: TMJ problems can frequently cause headaches but there may be other causes. If you have not seen a dentist recently then have a dentist check to see if there is any TMJ related causes to the headache. Nightguards that are custom made by a dentist tend to work most of the time. If your current nightguard is an OTC one therein lies part of your problem.
