How much pain is expected from having the banding procedure done for hemorrhoids?

If done: Correctly and in the proper clinical situation, very little true pain. You may have some local discomfort for a couple of days similar to having the urge to have a bowel movement but not relieved by doing so. I generally recommend relative rest for 1-2 days following the procedure and warm tub soaks as need for the discomfort. No narcotics as they constipate and we don't.
