It's Safe: Jason - the only procedure I do not advise for my homosexual patients is pph - it leaves a permanent staple line in the rectum that i worry can cause problems with anal receptive sex going forward. The thd, is safe. In reality, thd is very similar to a banding procedure, however consider it a much larger band in six places. For both procedures, you should not have sex for a few weeks after.

Either one: I don't think there is a particular advantage between the two. There may be some sutures involved initially with thd, but these dissolve within 3-4 weeks. The hemorrhoid bands fall off after 5-10 days. With both procedures, it would be advisable to wait at least 1 month to allow the inflammation from the procedure to resolve.
