No: Diabetes is related to carbohydrate metabolism and the pancreas release of insulin, and it not being effective. It is located in the abdomen on the mid left. The thyroid gland in the neck is under control of the hypothalamus, pituitary axis in the brain. These hormones control a lot of different physiologic functions. The two are unrelated. Good question. Complicated physiology.
