Hard to say: Staph is an unusual thing to treat around/in the ear, but does happen. You didn't mention the middle ears but it would be truly rare as an issue there. For canal and or pinna (ear) involvement, one would think you could treat and be done unless you felt symptoms were recurring. Follow up if needed should have been suggested at the time of initial treatment. A call to the office could clarify this.
