A member asked:

How common are migraines for pregnant women?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Migraine headache: In pregnancy, true migraine headaches with neurological manifestations (light sensitivity, etc.) may occur, especially if the patient has a history of true migraines ( with nausea, vomiting). Many headaches in pregnancy are caused by low blood sugars, increased blood pressure (pre-eclampsia) . Check with your OB provider to see if a neurology consult is warranted.
