Why do you ask?: People with personality disorders create difficult situations for those around them, including their children. These people will not be reasoned with. Whether oppositional-defiant disorder is a disease or a behavior pattern due to lack of appropriate discipline is a question I will leave to others. The key isn’t to reason why, but to try to help the kid change behavior before it’s too late.
