Irritation: This material has produced a chemical conjunctivitis by directly irritating those tissues. It may self heal over time assisted by copious amounts of artificial tears or simple eye drops. You may want to see an eye doc about some pain control or other meds to assist healing. They could also decide whether more intense treatment is required.

Eyes are almost always irritated. Dry, watery, red, small amounts of mucus. Have allergies and dry eyes. Eye drops don't always help. Best solution?
