Unlikely: A chest xray is a basic screening tool. Mild hyperinflation means your lungs looked a bit too big. This can be from a big deep breath you took when the xray was taken (as usually instructed by the xray tech), or could mean the beginnings of COPD/emphysema. Cough can be from many things. Please see your doctor to review the xray findings.
