Do it: That lingual frenum is not needed and you don't want your daughter to have speech issues.

Tongue tied: An unfortunate anatomical anomaly that should have been addressed at birth. Being tongue tied adversely affects speech, swallowing, airway, and the shape of the upper jaw. Please have the foreshortened tissue reshaped as per your astute ENT's instructions. Then take your 6 year old to be examined by a specialist Orthodontist.
