Yes: If your primary care doctor, who knows your medical situation best, recommends a pulmonary specialist then it would be a good idea to see one.

Further evaluation: Cough for 3 months needs explanation. Possibilities include infection, allergy, asthma, side effects of medication, and tumor. I agree that you should see a ling specialist.
