my husband has pain in his diaphragm after gagging and vomiting hard for him to lay down soreness and diaphragm and along sides of his chest what can ?

Need to examine: An in-person evaluation is need to ascertain the cause of gagging and vomiting. The muscle issues are likely secondary to the retching and vomiting. He may try an anti-emetic available over the counter, such as Bonine. If that does not help, it would be prudent to see a doctor.
