Why is it that under my eyes are always purple?

Darkness around eyes: Since the skin around eyes is very thin, it may make the blood vessels more prominent or the area appears to be darker than rest of the skin. Some causes can be : genetics, aging, allergies, nasal congestion, dehydration, lack of sleep, dehydration, exposure to sun, anemia, smoking etc.
