A member asked:

Is it really the case that the only people with purple eyes are albino?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes and No: No: special contact lenses can mimick a purple eye. Now without contact lenses, yes, albino's lack iris pigment. If it is severe it looks more red than purple. Yes. Incomplete albinos can have purplish irides, because of transmission of light into the eye and reflecting from retina which is red is filtered by partial albinos as purple.
