Nothing scary: The adenoids are like your tonsils but they hang in the roof of your back airway. The words mean they are enlarged, as they are in most kids that age. In some kids with recurrent ear & sinus infections and or sleep apnea they are removed. In most, they become relatively smaller as the kid grows older.
