Either one: Both work equally well, as do a number of other "azole" creams. In research asking women which they preferred, after treating with either single dose fluconazole (Diflucan) by mouth or vaginal cream for several days, most but not all preferred the pill. In any case, there's nothing to be scared about. It's not the least bit harmful.
