Surgery: Surgery is not typically indicated for the treatment of PCOS. The treatment is usually diet and exercise in addition to hormones. Open ex laps are extremely uncommon in the treatment of endometriosis. Laparoscopy has a much better recovery rate and can treat endometriosis just as well if not better. Usually a patient will have had to fail treatment with meds to have surgery for endometriosis
