Evidence-based: Guidelines are based on many factors, there are no official "guidelines" since individual patients are different and adapting average prognostic information from studies of hundreds of people is part of the art of medicine. Evidence-based guidelines and resulting prognosis information assist doctors in determining when a condition is terminal and then they determine when it applies to their pt.
