I had a right hip joint replaced with a ceramic and titanium unit. the entry was anterior. i have severe groin pain. it's appears to be the psoas. the surgeon thinks there may be cup impingement, has indicated psoas release surgery. i'm in disbelief.

Get second opinion.: Anytime you are not comfortable with the information you receive from any doctor, get a second opinion. It is the smart thing to do. Though well-adjusted docs have no problems with you doing this, and often encourage you to do so, others may get peeved about it. If so, it says something about that doc's attitude and/or professionalism. You are always entitled to a second opinion.
