Think/antihistamine: Whole body hives/itching suggests a food reaction or response to an illness. The listed temperature is not impressive & is probably within expected limits for this condition. Doses of diphenhydramine or a cool bath can help with the itching and may reduce new hives.

About hives...: Hives are raised, itchy bumps caused by histamine, a chemical released during an allergic reaction. Blocking histamine with an oral anti-histamine helps prevent new hives from forming, and helps current hives fade away. For toddlers, Benadryl (diphenhydramine) liquid is often used. For kids over 2 years, oral Zyrtec or Claritin can also be used. Hydrocortisone 1% cream can sometimes help.
