Schoolclassroom had newly laid carpet,strong smell given me mildheadache+fogginess+sore throat am i going to get longterm damage/braindamage from voc?

Hope not: What's done is done, and a person most likely will never know if he knocked off a few brain cells. Thus, it's best to not worry about it, and try to avoid future such situations. If the vapors did not bother other people, most likely there was be no damage. If the vapors made large numbers of people sick, then there might have been damage. VOC's are regulated; remodelers should be professionals.
