i've had what is classed as diarrhea for over 2 and a half days and imodium is not having any effect. what should i do?

Go to your doctor : Two days of diarrhea will dehydrate you fairly quick. Imodium should only be used for an episode or two of diarrhea. Start drinking small sips of water every 5 minutes or so. No food. Later try some Gatorade. If the diarrhea doesn’t go away, you need to be rehydrated and look for other reasons why it’s not gone. Like a colonoscopy. You might need IV fluids. Go to Urgent Care or and ER.

Diarrhea: If this is part of a viral intestinal tract infection or bout of food poisoning, it is recommended that having several loose movements is ok, but after that continual diarrhea is best treated with medications like koapectate or lomotil as well as avoiding all roughage in your diet. Prescription antidiarrheal medications like lomotil, paregoric, or deodorized tincture of opium are stronger. See MD

Diarrhea : You probably are loosing lots of fluids and electrolytes. I would recommend to stay well hydrated and seek an evaluation by a family dr.

Diarrhea : Lasting more than 2 and half days needs evaluation by your doctor or urgent care. Any blood in the stool or abdominal pain or fever? Drink plenty of electrolyte loaded fluids

What could cause the left side of my jaw to lock up after catching a cold a few days ago?

TMJ disorder: A locked jaw is usually due to a temporomandibular joint that is injured or displaced. This could happen when you are ill from clenching too much, or a wide yawn if you already have aproblem with the joint. Go see an ent. If severe a few days of a steroid will help, then you may need an occlusion splint made by a dentist.

Is it safe to take 5 metformin pills & 5 onglyza (saxagliptin) pills on 1 day and take a break for 5 days while fasting?

Absolutely not!: There is no rationale for taking metformin or Onglyza (saxagliptin) in that fashion and taking such large amounts all at once may lead to toxic side-effects.
Dr. William Harris

The equivalent 5-day Onglyza treatment would be once-weekly Bydureon injections. You get all of the benefits of a daily pill in a weekly shot. There is no equivalent, weekly (more convenient) dosing form of metformin yet -- we're still stuck with the once-daily metformin so far...

My son had small bumps in his face-chicken bumps as they call.Is there any cream to apply to treat it.?

More info: "chicken bumps" are more commonly seen on the arms and legs and do well with cod liver oil (orally). On the face...Depends on the age. If a newborn is one thing. Older children i would want to see the rash before offering suggestions. In general there is a great cream..Called schmoove. Can be ordered from maker. Check it out at www.Franzcenter.Com under herbaceuticals.

See a doctor: This is not normal and needs a rapid diagnosis, and treatment based on the diagnosis. You have an inflammatory condition of the colon and this could be infectious or inflammatory bowel disease or other. Do not wait. See somebody asap, and hope you are better soon.
