On the 5th of january i had my galbladder removed at uct private academic hospital. it is now almost a month later and i still have pain and discomfort. i am on pain medication four times a day. is this normal?

Needs workup: A month is a long time. You may be having pain related to the operation or the wound. If the procedure was done via laparoscopy then it is almost certainly related to the operation itself. If an open procedure then the wound could be suspect. CT scan or preferably MRI to look for Internal fluid collection along with lab studies should provide answers. Be brave and cautious. All may yet be well.
