Get it checked: Sometimes IUD's migrate outside of the intra uterine location after a period of time or uterine infection occurs with back pain as a symptom. If you can palpate the IUD string inside the cervix then have your GYN MD evaluated your back pain. Remember that some hormone based IUD's expire after 5 years as well.
