Proper nutrition: Triglycerides are produced in your liver. That happens in response to things you eat. Elevated triglyceride is a marker for stress in your body and poor health. Things that elevate triglycerides are carbs (especially fructose), processed oils, and alcohol. To really make a difference 1st cut out all sweetened drinks 2nd stop all vegetable oils 3rd minimize alcohol. NEVER take paracetamol/tylenol.

Omega-3,fibrate: Avoid all alcohol. If diabetic, control hemoglobin A1C to < 7%. Ask your MD about starting branded omega-3 fatty acid (Vascepa, Lovaza) 4 g/day, and ask about starting a fibric acid 160 mg/day.

Lower triglycerides.: Regular cardiovascular exercise, low saturated and trans fats in the diet. Avoid fried, deep fried and sauteed foods. When cooking, bake, broil or grill. High fiber - 70 grams daily in divided doses across smaller more frequent meals. Niacin and fish oil supplementation, 2000mg of each daily in divided doses.
