1 of the side effect: -s. Not the best Rx for gout. I start with a uric acid , if high use colchicine to absorb crystals, then probenecid which allows urinary excretion of uric acid and also allopurinol which interferes with the production of uric acid. Then after things clear up, just continue on allopurinol, 200 mg/day. That’s how I treated myself & never had a second attack in30 years, nor have my patients.
