Maybe not salmonella: Most salmonella clears up within a few weeks, even without treatment. Many cases but not all would respond to ciprofloxacin. Azithromycin and metronidazole (Flagyl) are not active against salmonella. At this point, persistent diarrhea could be an antibiotic side effect or even Clostridium dificile. Return to the doctor treating you; or ask for referral to infectious diseases specialist. Gd luck!
