Abd pain/period?: Low estrogen levels in oral bcp's require taking the active pills within the hour of the time the previous pill was taken to avoid breakthrough bleeding. It is recommended to take the bcp's in the evening, to avoid sleep disturbances by taking them in the AM. Lower abdominal pain with vaginal bleeding can be serious, so see your gyn provider for an exam and testing.
